Cecil A. Rinard, our father, has gone to rest with our Lord and Savior on Friday, May 2, 2025, with several loved ones at his side. He has joined his wife, Edna B. Rinard, of 38 years along with children Laurance Wayne Rinard, Rosalee Ann Rinard, Michael Rinard, James Vernon Drappeaux, Penny Lee Rinard and Terry Edwen Rinard. He is survived by his sons Ernest Rinard of Bridge Creek, OK, Tommy Rinard of Fortville, IN and Tony Rinard of Alburquerque, NM; and daughters Sandra Ann Rinard, of Albuquerque, NM, Armina "Jean" Rinard, of Newbern, NC, Qwenada Rae Potter of Greenfield, IN, Starlina Stewart of Chesterfield, IN. Cecil was the proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 13 great great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Cecil Rinard was born in Waterloo, IA to Frank and Hilda Rinard on February 4,1928. He served in the US Army Air Corps as a member of the 5th Air Corp which served in WWII. He retired from Western Electric Corporation after 38 years of service. He became a Mason in 1980 and moved on to becoming a Shriner at the Murat Temple in Indianapolis in 1986. He was a proud member of the Fortville community for more than 50 years, where he raised his family. He was someone that was respected by those in the community and considered as someone that could always be counted on. He was a hard worker who never took what he didn't earn nor ever asked for a handout.
His children will all say that he was tough but a wonderful father that loved his wife and children deeply. He was loved greatly and will be missed tremendously. He will not be forgotten.
A funeral service for Cecil will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat St., Fortville, IN 46040. Visitation will take place prior to the service on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery
