Obituary for Eva "May" Dalton Long
Eva “May” Dalton Long,
87, of McCordsville, Indiana, passed away peacefully August 13, 2026. She was born March 14, 1939 the twin sister of Joyce Faye Dalton to the late George Washington and Ruthella Vivian (Wray) Dalton. May married Eddie Talmadge Long September 30, 1955 and he preceded her in death March 22, 2017 after 61 years of marriage. May was a gifted seamstress by trade and was employed with Fabri-Tech for many years.
May was a long-time devoted member of Fortville Church of the Nazarene. She loved quilting, vacationing with family, and the yearly family reunions in Kentucky.
Visitation will be Monday, August 17, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Fortville Church of the Nazarene, 701 South Maple Street, Fortville, IN 46040. May is survived by her children, Lavonne Long, David (Lisa) Long, Sam Long, Paula Gardner, Tony (Michelle) Long; grandchildren, Brandon (Amanda) Hopkins, Angie (Cyrus) Naser, Joshua Long, Corey (Brittany) Long, Courtney (Kyle) Cook, Kyle Gardner, Cody (Carly) Long, Mia (Anthony Alleva) Long, and Hope Long; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Hudson Hopkins, Harvey and Fletcher Naser and Owen and Sophia Long; sisters-in-law, Ann Long, Mary Jane Long and Pat Dalton; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Winston “Bud” Dalton (Josephine), Velma Leavins, Sam Dalton (June), Marie Milz (John), Gay Smith (Harold), George Grider Dalton, Faye Goode (Louis), and Pauline Dalton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in May’s honor may be made to Fortville Church of the Nazarene.
