William M Skaggs, 69, of Fortville passed away peacefully on 02 November 2025. William was born on 31 July 1956 in Dayton, Kentucky to the late Thomas Skaggs Sr. and Angela (Steward)Skaggs. William Married the love of his life Judith (Hampton) on 15 May 1979.
William went to Mount Vernon High School Class of 1975. William began his career as a Carpenter until a tragic accident that left him with a severe back injury. Although the injury was severe, William never let it slow him down. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting deer in Ohio County with his brothers and nephews, also enjoyed fishing for Catfish. He enjoyed yard work, woodworking and his passion was collect vintage toys for his childhood. He also enjoyed spending time with Family and loved his family. He always looked forward to family gatherings and was loved competing in all types of games with his nieces and nephews during any and all family gatherings. No one can deny the love he had for his family.
Anything Charlie Brown was favorite thing to collect from Charlie Brown chip clips to four-foot animatronic figures, everything was in his collection. He would always call his grandkids to remind them that any and every Charlie Brown special was on TV. He didn’t want them to miss, but in reality, he wanted to share the joy he experienced watching them.
William is survived by his wife of 46 years Judith, Son William (Jessica) Cobb, Daughter Melissa (Dean)Hites, Brother Robert (Pam) Skaggs, Sister Jackie (Red) Hutchinson, Grandchildren Blake Davis, Bailee Cobb and Brayden Cobb, numerous Nieces and Nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by parents Thomas and Angie Skaggs, brothers, Thomas Jr, Roy, Jerry, Ronald Skaggs, sisters Angie Miller, Linda Andis, Ellen Bush, Shirley Woodsmall Nephews Dennis (DJ) Andis, Benny Skaggs and niece Mary Skaggs.
Services to celebrate Williams Life will begin at 1:30 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville, on Friday November7, 2025. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville, with a short graveside service. Memorial donations in William's honor may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O.
