Phyllis Ann Lingenfelter, 73, Greenfield, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021. She was born on October 14, 1947, the only child to Alva and Bertha (Smith) Clayton in Dumas, Arkansas. Following high school, Phyllis attended college earning a business degree. She married David Lingenfelter on April 8, 1966.
Phyllis worked as a book keeper for 19 years at American Inn Hotels in Castleton. She then worked an additional 22 years as a night auditor for Super 8 in Greenfield before retiring. She loved to read books, knit and crochet, go to garage sales, and listen to Elvis. But her highlights were spending time with her family, gathering around food, and participating in family game night.
She is survived by her children: Michael (Stacy) Lingenfelter and Rebecca Stephens; 6 grandchildren: Vanessa Stephens (Michael Phelps), Corbin Lingenfelter, Stephanie Lingenfelter, Brandon Lingenfelter, Melissa Stephens, and Gary Stephens; and sisters-in-law: Patricia Lingenfelter and Joanne Nurnberger.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 47 years, David Lingenfelter; daughter, Katherine Mullins; and granddaughter, Nicole Stephens.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, with the service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place in Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
